DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography)
Assam's Premier Multi Superspeciality Hospital
About DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography)
The most detailed imaging of blood vessels in the brain and body, and the platform for endovascular treatment.
Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) is an X-ray technique in which contrast dye is injected through a thin catheter, usually from the groin or wrist, and the bones and soft tissues are digitally removed from the image so the blood vessels are seen clearly.
DSA is the gold standard for studying aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, Moya Moya disease and vessel blockages, and is also used to guide treatments such as coiling and thrombectomy.
When is it advised?
